Circuit symbols

Schematic symbols for passive devices:

resistor schematic symbol Resistors
thermistor schematic symbol Thermistor

or temperature dependent resistor
preset schematic symbol Presets

Those three pin skeleton things that never fit into veroboard and you end up soldering veropins and piggybacking the thing on top!
Really the same as a variable resistor with no case and much smaller.
variable resistor schematic symbol Variable resistors

Proper panel mount units with a metal or plastic spindle - plastic is easier to cut.
light dependent resistor schematic symbol Light dependent resistor
capacitor schematic symbol Capacitors
electrolytic capacitor schematic symbol Electroytic capacitors

These contain a electrolyte solution and when placed the wrong way round generally explode. These are also the symbols for tantalum which when placed the wrong way round generally smoke!
variable capacitor schematic symbol Variable capacitors

These are the ones on a transistor radio 265pF (or larger for older radios).
trimmer capacitor schematic symbol Preset or trimmer capacitors

These are miniature capacitors either with overlapping vanes (small round) ~65pF or a single plate that is rasied of the other with a screw.
inductor schematic symbol Inductor
diode schematic symbol Diode
zener diode schematic symbol Zener Diode
diac schematic symbol Diac
bell schematic symbol Bell
buzer schematic symbol Buzzer
diode schematic symbol Fuse
lamp schematic symbol Lamp
loudspeaker schematic symbol Loudspeaker
microphone schematic symbol Microphone
transformer schematic symbol Transformer
crystal schematic symbol Crystal
LED schematic symbol LED
Light detecting diode schematic symbol Light detecting diode
volt bar power supply schematic symbol Volt bar (power supply)
chassis GND schematic symbol Chassis GND
normally open switch schematic symbol Normally open switch
normally closed switch schematic symbols Normally closed switch
spdt switch schematic symbols Switch SPDT

Schematic symbols for active devices:

transistor NPN,PNP schematic symbols
NPN,PNP transistior

Electronics is the study and use of electrical that operate by controlling the flow of electrons or other electrically charged particles in devices such as thermionic valves. and semiconductors. The pure study of such devices is considered as a branch of physics, while the design and construction electronic circuits to solve practical problems is called electronic engineering.
